Personal Interactive Use Verses Dedicated Connection Service
The user agrees that personal interactive connections are defined as attended and active connections to the Internet without the use of any automatic method to maintain a connection by an unattended computer. The user further agrees that dedicated connection service is defined as an uninterrupted connection that is maintained between periods of active data transfer or attended use of the connecting computer. The user acknowledges that QUIK Internet may establish certain parameters such as average daily use hours to indicate whether an account is conducting personal interactive use or a dedicated connection.
Unattended Connections
A dial-up customer must be using his or her QUIK account as a personal interactive connection and not as a dedicated access connection. The user agrees not to use any automatic method to maintain a connection by an unattended computer.
QUIK Internet of Houston may review an account that averages greater than 7 hours per day over any 10 day period, or that maintains connections over 16 hours on a repetitive basis. These accounts may be determined to be "dedicated access" accounts in which case, the user will be offered alternative rate schedules which reflect fair and competitive cost for the services used.
Use By Others
QUIK Internet dial-up accounts are for use only by the account owner and immediate family members who reside at the same location as the account owner. Account owners may access their account from more than one computer or one location.
Multiple Simultaneous Connections
The QUIK Basic Dial-up account permits only one connection to the Internet at a time. Multiple simultaneous connections will be automatically disconnected from the system and a notice sent by e-mail.
